This is my art. My art is my artist’s statement. It reflects my ups and downs in life. Each piece has a story. My latest pieces (silk fusion) reflect my experience with Long COVID. The disease changed who I am, and how I express myself in my art.

I am one of the fortunate. I had hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment for my Long COVID, over a year ago, and so far, no more symptoms.

Illness is a master teacher. If you are listening, it will tell you what is important, how to listen, how to slow down and how to appreciate the moment for one never knows what is around the corner.

When I am not making art, I listen to music, read, spend time in the mountains hiking, watch streaming media (movies and TV series) with my lovely husband and advocate for people who still suffer with Long COVID.

Life is good. Life is impermanent. So remember to savor each breath, choose words carefully and be kind to yourself and others.
